Hi, my name is Celeste, and I’m terrible at keeping up with my blog. It’s been quite some time since I’ve published a new post (January!?). 2017 isn’t turning out to be the year of consistency so far. Truth be told most of my free time these days is spent recording or editing my actual play DnD podcast, Sword of Nerdom, or working on cosplays.
So I’m going to try and be better. That’s why I’m starting up this new segment “Currently…” inspired by Kayly (My Open Sketchbook)’s Currently posts. My goal is to do this at least once a month. So fingers crossed that it sticks!
Here’s what I’ve been up to lately…
Listening To: A month or so I discovered The Starbenders, a glam rock band based here in Atlanta. They’re amazing to say the least and have killer style. Listening to their music gives me hope for the future of rock which has more than gone down the drain in the last decade. Most of the lyrics are on the darker side of things, but the music is full of energy and puts me in a really good mood. Listen to a few of my favorite Starbenders songs below if you need a pick me up.
Working On: DragonCon cosplays! There’s little more than a month before the convention, so it’s time for me to step into overdrive with my cosplay progress. I have two definitive group cosplays happening. The first is Widowmaker as part of an Overwatch bomberjacket ladies group based off of art by Paulina Ganucheau (artist of Zodiac Starforce.) The second group is a genderbent FFXV group where I’ll be cosplaying Ignis Scientia. I’ll also have a few other cosplays including Joker & protagonist of Persona 5 and a finished Lady Maria of Bloodborne. No pressure right?
Planning: I’ve been looking into upgrading the set up for the podcast, Sword of Nerdom. Right now we use one mic to capture everyone’s voice at the table. Hopefully by the end of the year we’ll have a mixer and individual mics. This upgrade will improve our sound quality by leaps and bounds. I've already picked out a mixer, but if you have any preferences for mics send them my way.
Reading: Zodiac Starforce and Snotgirl are both back for story arc #2 at last! If you haven’t read either of these comics yet I would highly recommend.
Loving: Recently I’ve been trying out a few Korean beauty products. One of my favorite products so far has been Thank You Farmer Back to Iceland Cleansing Water. I’ve been using it at night after I’ve washed my face with Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and it has definitely helped calm my acne. Plus it feels lovely on the skin and the light fragrance smells nice. If you have any K-beauty products you’d recommend let me know in the comments!
